The colonization of the so-called under-developed, poorer countries of this world by the more developed capitalist-orientated countries, benefited the latter greatly – at the expense of the former. Slavery was one of the more tragic outcomes – another being that the colonizers were now imbued with racist perceptions, which led to widespread usage within the English-speaking countries.
